Horse drawn fire wagon with five men in front of the original Fire Station No. 1, located at Mulberry and Buckeye streets. These were the first five paid fireman for the city. Standing (l-r): Al Wells (captain), "Shanty" Milton McRae (hose man), Clinton Draper (hydrant man) On wagon: John Petty (driver), Ed Schauman (fire chief) According to Ned Booher, the location was 121 E. Walnut street and the building on the left was the old Kokomo Tribune office. |
